When it comes to weight loss, MASTERING YOUR ENVIRONMENT is the most important habit you can develop. What does it mean to master your environment?
It means NO JUNK FOOD in your pantry, fridge or freezer. This is KEY for anyone who struggles with cravings or if you find that having one cookie leads you to having 12 cookies. If there are no cookies in your environment and instead your kitchen is filled with healthy, whole foods – then you will eat those instead!
Another important way to master your environment is to pre-eat something healthy if you know you’re going to a party that will have mostly junk food: pizza, cakes, cookies, chips, etc. If you go to that party hungry, how much harder is it going to be to avoid those things? Why put yourself through that torture? Pre-Eating is something I have done for years as a vegan because I never know if there will be vegan options where I’m going.
In order to truly master your environment, you may need to have a talk with the people around you: your partner, your co-workers, your friends, etc. Let them know that your weight loss goal is important to you and ask them kindly not to offer you junk food.
Being the master of your environment means you SET YOURSELF UP FOR SUCCESS.
